Another hurdle!!

Looks like I've got another hurdle to cross to get my business up and running, and this time its in the form of the job centre. As I've been taking part on the New Enterprise Allowance scheme I have to have a live claim in place for me to stay on it. As the other half found a job, our joint claim was no longer valid, and thanks to a lot of misadvice, wrong claim packs and a not very helpful civil servant, who seemed to want to get home than answer the questions I had asked......needless to say, I ended up a tiny bit frustrated to say the least......anyway, after yet another phone call, I was advised (hopefully correctly) that the slight break in claims should not effect my NEA scheme place, especially as my business plan is good to fingers crossed that the next time I catch up with you, I can officially say I am busy busy busy being self employed and shopping for a sewing machine and lots of lovely fabrics and materials to make you all some fabulous items for your homes and gardens :D

Paper Scissors Wire and Glue

Well, the business plan is very nearly done and dusted.....thankfully!!

So I've moved onto fun things. Creating my logo for my site, business cards etc. I want something that can be easily recognizable as my own, so what else can a girl do but get the craft materials out and make it myself. After a few ideas, I've decided on handmade paper flowers with paper clip stems and leaves, thankfully, I had that in my tiny amount of stock so off I went with the trusty scissors and pliers a cutting, gluing and bending things into shape and I have to say, I like what I've come up with.

Yes, it's still a rough draft of what it will eventually look like, but once I use my actual camera and wait for daylight (instead of using the camera on my mobile and lights) I reckon it's going to look pretty darn spiffy.

I've just got to change some colours, as I didn't realise that the white would be saturated by the background colours, once I'd begun to play with it on photoshop. Its all trial and error at this stage and as they say, you learn from your mistakes, but hopefully by the weekend, I'll have an actual image that I can call my own and it will become synonymous with Hippychick Creations :D

Catch 22

Well, as the title says, I appear to be in catch 22. I desperately need my NEA loan in order to get my basic equipment and material to make product, so my business can be up and running the day after I finally get to sign of JSA....(that cannot come soon enough) so I can generate an income immediately, but I can't get said loan till I sign off :/

This will not deter me, I shall find someway to get this sorted out. Not too sure how, who knows, maybe I'll win the lottery. Admittedly, I'll have to start doing it first lol.

Anyway, back to the old business plan, as without that, there won't be any products, on line store or a little dream :D
